Inbox & notifications
Your Inbox (g i, or Inbox in the sidebar) collects what's for you, newest first. The sidebar shows a count when there's something new.
#What lands in it
- Needs attention — your open tasks that are due today or overdue. A task leaves once it's done or rescheduled.
- Updated since you looked — tasks you've opened that someone else has changed since, with what changed.
- Notifications — someone mentioned you, replied to you, gave you a task or took one off you, or a task of yours was unblocked because the last task blocking it finished. You're also told when someone accepts or declines your invitation, and when you're offered a workspace to own.
Notifications are grouped by place — one row per task, channel or doc, saying how many there are. A row with several opens up to list them. You're never notified about your own actions, or about anything you can't see.
#Working through it
- Unread and the kind chips at the top narrow the list.
- Move with j / k or the arrows, and press Enter to open a row (Alt/Option+Enter opens it to the side).
- x marks a row read or unread.
- Shift+R replies right there — or comments on the task the row is about.
- The u shortcuts change the task a row is about, just as in a task list.
- Every row's ••• menu is also its right-click menu.
Opening the place you were mentioned — a task's comments, or a chat channel read to the end — marks those notifications read.
