Support access

#Support access

Sometimes the quickest way to fix a problem is for support to see the app exactly as you see it. They can only do that if you let them.

  • Letting them — turn on Let support see my account in Settings → Account → Support access.
  • For how long — access lasts 24 hours, then turns itself off.
  • Taking it back — turn the switch off. Any viewing in progress ends at once.
  • While they look — it's read-only: nothing can be changed, sent or deleted while support views the app as you, and your unread counts, notifications and preferences stay exactly as they were.

#The history

Settings → Account → Support access lists every time someone from support viewed your account — across all your workspaces, since access is to you rather than to one workspace: who, when and for how long, including anyone viewing right now.

#When it can't wait

If something can't wait, support can look without your permission — but only by giving a reason. When that happens you're emailed straight away, Settings shows who is looking, why, and until when, with End it now to stop it, and the history marks it "without your permission", with the reason.

#Privacy

Support access is off until you turn it on, and it switches itself off after a day. Looking without your permission needs a recorded reason and emails you at once. Either way, nobody can change anything while they look, and every look is in your history for you to see.

As with any app that keeps your work on its servers, the few people who run Plan Things Better can reach workspace data with their admin tools. We use them to keep the service running, to fix problems, and when the law requires it. To get help with something in your workspace, we use support access, so you see it in your history. Docs, views and dashboards set to Only me stay private even from us.
