Timeline

The Timeline layout is a Gantt-style chart. Tasks are listed down the left; each one's dates are drawn across a time axis on the right, in its status's color, with a line for today.

#Reading it

  • A task with a start and due date is a bar between them.
  • A task with only a due date is a diamond on that day.
  • A task with only a start date runs off to the right.
  • Tasks with no dates wait in the Unscheduled pane below the chart.

#Changing dates

  • Drag a bar to move it; drag either end to change that date.
  • A diamond or an open-ended bar has a grip on its open side — drag it to add the missing date.
  • Click a bar or diamond to edit its dates directly.
  • Drag a task from Unscheduled onto the chart to give it a date.

Click a task's name, or its empty lane, to open it.

#Zoom

The toolbar's zoom buttons switch the time axis between Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year and All (everything fits). The zoom is part of the view (zoom: in the query); where you've scrolled to isn't.

On a narrow pane, the task list on the left narrows too, and it can be folded down to a strip of status icons to give the chart more room.

Display sets the ordering and how sub-tasks show.
