Calendar

The Calendar layout puts tasks on the days their dates fall on, drawn as bars in their status's color. Tasks that last several days stretch across them, stacked like events in a calendar app.

#Choosing what it shows

The toolbar sets:

  • Show — Month, Week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks or Schedule.
  • Date — which date places a task: due, start, created, updated or completed. Add a second with to (for example start to due) to draw each task as a span from one date to the other. A task with only one of the two sits on that day with an open end.
  • ‹ and › page back and forward; Today comes back to now.

In Month, a day with more than fits shows "+N more" — click it to see them all.

Schedule lists the days that have something on them, one after another, like an agenda. A task that spans several days shows once, with where it ends. Unfinished tasks whose dates have all passed come first, under Earlier.

#Changing dates

  • Drag a task to another day to move it — every date it's placed by shifts by the same number of days.
  • Drag either end of a span to stretch or shrink it.
  • Drag across empty days to make a new task spanning them.
  • Tasks with no date wait in the Unscheduled drawer below the calendar. Drag one onto a day to give it that date.

Only dates people set (start and due) move. Created, updated and completed dates are shown but can't be dragged.

#Working with tasks

Tasks behave as they do in any list: click to open, Cmd/Ctrl+click or Shift+click to select, right-click for the task's menu, and j / k to move between them.

The calendar's settings are part of the view (calendar: and date: in the query); which month you've paged to isn't.
