Plans & billing
Each workspace has its own plan. Billing is handled by the workspace's owner, in Settings → Billing — only the owner sees that tab.
#Free and Team
| Free | Team | |
|---|---|---|
| Who's in it | You, plus a few guests | As many members as you need, with roles |
| Guests | A few | Unlimited, always free |
| Workspaces | One on Free | More workspaces, each with its own setup |
| Everything else | Every layout, view and dashboard, split panes and arrangements, Activity and Trash | Everything in Free |
| Activity history | Kept for a limited time | Kept for good |
Team is priced per member, per workspace, billed monthly or yearly. Guests never count. Settings → Billing shows exactly what your workspace's plan includes and costs.
#Upgrading
- Open Settings → Billing (you must be the workspace's owner).
- Choose monthly or yearly and press Upgrade. You'll pay securely through Stripe, then come straight back.
You'll also be offered an upgrade when you try something your plan doesn't include — inviting a member on Free, for example. Making another workspace beyond what your plan allows asks you to pay for it first; it's created as soon as the payment goes through.
#Seats
A seat is a member or admin — someone active or invited who isn't a guest. Your bill follows the number of seats as people join and leave. Settings → Billing shows your seats, what each period costs, and when the next payment is due.
#Managing your subscription
On Team, Manage billing opens Stripe's billing portal, where you can change your card, see invoices, switch between monthly and yearly, or cancel.
Switch to Free ends the subscription at the end of the current period: the workspace stays on Team until then, nothing more is charged, and you can change your mind with Resume subscription until the date. If the workspace has more people than Free allows, the app tells you what to change first.
#If a subscription ends or a payment fails
If a workspace's subscription ends, or a payment keeps failing past a grace period, and the workspace has more people than its plan allows, it becomes read-only for everyone. A banner across the top explains why.
- Nothing is deleted. Everyone can still read everything.
- The owner can renew in Settings → Billing, or remove members until the workspace fits the Free plan — removing people, leaving and deleting the workspace still work while it's read-only.
- Everyone else is told to ask the owner.
As soon as the workspace is paid for again, or fits its plan, it unlocks.
